Pencil är open source animation verktyg. Man kanske ska inte se den som ersättning för Flash men den bygger på traditionell 2D animation tekniken. Jag har inte provat den själv, men den är värd att flaga upp.

Ibland vill man flytta vektorgrafiken till After Effects för att göra en mask eller för att använda banor för animationen. Man kan göra det från Illustrator och även Photoshop. Det finns dock några trix för att det ska gå rätt till. Video tutorial från creativecow.net/ visar hur det ska gå till

I Adobes Cs3 versioner fungerar import till Flash smidigt mellan Illustrator, Photoshop. Jag letade efter ett program för att spara vj mix från Onyx till video och på deras forum hittade tips om CamStudio, ett program som spelar in allt som händer på skärmen. CamStudio sparar allt i AVI formatet men har en funktion som kan omvandla AVI till Flash swf. (Mer om filnamn finns här.) I samma vävan blev jag tipsat av en vän om ett anat program som omvandlar swf till AVI; SWFDROP. Båda

Inkscape är "Open Source" program för vektor grafik... och gratis! Det finns masa video tutorials på YouTube om man fördjupa sig i programmet samt tips och trix på Inkscape´s blogg. En kort film "Color blind" av Jimmy Giambronne, skapad av mycket ung team. Mer info om filmen på YouTube. Jag har fastnat för den av flera anledningar.
